Today, I decided to get a HDMI cable. Plugged it in to my graphic card and the LCD, some configurations in Windows Control Panel, and I am done. Sound will be produced from my graphic card, sent to the LCD via HDMI cable. Next, I hooked up the headphone to the back LCD panel, tested it and there’s sound. I will test the sound quality when I have the time.

And now, after feeling that my LCD should be complete with the addition of the HDMI cable, I deserve a self pride to show off my 24″ and it’s companions.

Triple screen arrangement. The CRT and LCD hooked up to the desktop with a single GPU and the desktop is linked to the laptop with Synergy2. Synergy2 works like kvm switch but without the hardware. It runs on booth desktop and laptop to provide seemless link and make use only a single mouse and keyboard to control both machines. The PDA is just a show that all the above displayed gadget is powered by Microsoft Windows.

What makes me motivated is definitely not because I am an IT geek and I know programming like the back of my hand but being in Game Design, it gives me the opportunity to dip into my creative side. You can let your creativity goes wild and yet within the rules and boundries. In GD, we learnt that creativity is not a give, but it is a thinking process. Thinking out of the box perhaps? Nah, maybe 50-50 . Creativity involves various thinking process to force uncommon response when generating new ideas or concepts. One thing that I am very sure of, I have learned how to suspend my judgement, not to evaluate uncommon responses negatively. Instead, turn it around, up or down and juxtapose both side of the coin, not to justify which is correct and which is not.

For the pass few weeks, besides being busy with MMU Career Fair 2009, I was also busy with the yearbook graduates photo shoot. Grads coming in, filling in their particulars and have their potrait photos taken. These photos will be documented in the yearbook as the everlasting piece of document that they will carry on with them, when they leave MMU, besides the degree. But what caught my attention was in the form, which one of the section, that has to be filled in… “I’ll always remember…” section.

Most graduates will remember about the experience they had with their friends in campus, the glory days with the boys, the sleepless nights because of assignments, the competitions that they have won, faking their age to go clubbing, how they got to prank on the juniors during the orientation, smoking in front the non-smoking sign, bending the rules, you name it…

Although not graduating yet, I also do have my own piece of story to share…

Why am I seeing only blank?

Back to reality. Thinking of it now, is there any significant acomplishment that I have done since the day I started my university life until now? Since primary school, I am an active student. Although I am not the smartest, most of the time I sit somewhere among the top 5, until the day I graduated from Sabah College. Out of classroom, I used to be in the choral speaking team, story telling, basket ball, debating, youth leader, an active member of Red Cresent Society and even among the founding member of the drama team in Sabah College and the list goes on.

The day I stepped into university, I aspired to be a top scorer, to be awarded with scholarship and most important of all, to be awarded with some sort of outstanding leadership award. I dreamed that 1 day, without doubt, I will become a great politician with the award of the ‘brightest future leader of tomorrow’ in my hand. But soon enough, I discovered the reality. I was having hard time juggling between my academics and my career as a ‘future leader of tomorrow’. Almost everyday, I rush against time to complete my work, assignments, rushing between classes, managing my extra curicular activities and social life. I wished my university life would have been perfect if I can achieve all those I have mentioned and having a steady girlfriend.

While I was pondering on what to write this afternoon, I was snapped back to reality with a knock at my room door by my housemate.

Clock showed 1.30pm, time to get ready for 2pm class. Went to class, waited for the tutor to come and submit my assignment. Stayed a while to listen to what my tutor has to brief about the assignment. Then decided to go back after that, since he decided not to teach on that day. Soon enough, I am back home, and found myself staring at this post again. With societies organizing proms, I asked myself, do I have the prom fever? Wait, we are not in America. In MMU not everyone give a damn about prom night, including me. I have been wondering, how can some of them get throught their university life skipping classes and go anywhere they want and yet I attended all the lectures and tutorials. “Because they just don’t care”. I have never really done anything am I? I should do something. I should go all crazy and all nuts and enjoy my university life to the fullest. Lets do something. I am doing something; rehearing my daily routine again and again.

Is my life that boring? Come to think of it, I have a steady girlfriend now. She’s been with me for almost 3 years. Although we argue and fight alot, we are still keeping our relationship strong. Although she may not be the smartest woman I have met, but I am glad that she will try her best to stand by my sit no matter what. We have been through alot, really alot. Because of the religion difference, we have been hated by some people and wherever we go, we are stalked.

Then, at times, I purposely pick a fight with people who are discriminating my body size.

But the best have yet to come. For almost 2 years, I have been trying to push for the revival of the yearbook in MMU Cyberjaya after it had died. Just went I was about to give up, Aaron mooted the idea of having a combined yearbook between the Melaka and Cyber. Seeing a little hope in it, I guess, why not. I talked to Zubair, pulled in some people and soon enough the yearbook gets rolling. Almost every free time I have after my class, I will try to be in the make shift studio to help out, eventhough it mean I have to take away my lunch. From there, I get to know the people in the yearbook team a little big closer. I have never felt so enthusiasted ever since I left Melaka(leaving SPB behind too) and came to Cyber. I felt like there’s a part of myself that I have never know of. Being among the people who care about each other, working hands in hands for a goal has never felt so better. Being a ‘future leader’ is not what make me, me.

During the graduates photo shoots, I get to see many faces of graduating students. But the faces in SPO that made my dream come through are the ones that were etched in my head. Finally, we are one step nearer in producing the yearbook. Although we cannot stay together in the same organization because some of us will be graduating, I’ll stay put in SPO and keep the spirit burning so that the rest of you who sacrificed for the yearbook, will have a yearbook when you graduate.

After all the hardwork to make sure the photo shoot runs as smooth as it can and making sure the Melaka side getting the content, all I got was a paper bag with my head stuffed inside…

Nah, ofcourse I got more than that. Invaluable friendship and once in a lifetime experience in reviving the yearbook. This is the kind of experience that you cannot buy from Redribbon Days.

I am not going to post some emo stuff here, but I do hope someone can share with me on how they manage their time. I am not complaning 24 hours a day is not enough, but how to do you make use of your time efficiently.
