What’s the use of having a family, when you can’t give love or get love? Everything revolves around money. Sacrifices are made for bringing the money back to home, meeting the end needs. But in the process, money has rooted evil, evil has blanketed this family. It does really reflect this world is materialistic. Almost everything is being exchanged with monetary value, whenever applicable, whenever possible.

I appreciate, I respect, I admire all the sacrifices done. But what had happened to the road down? I cannot stand a day more to see all these happening. You can stab me repetitively, you can let me bleed slowly to death, you can skin me off to let me be in pain, but all these pain is much more lesser than seeing almost everything around me falling apart. I shall choose the path least traveled, not knowing the world at the other end, to live in solitude, enduring all the never ending agony alone. With this, Being ian.Tam is dead.

GOODBYE my world. May the memories of Being ian.Tam be the flowers and sun shines of a heart broken into thousand of pieces, hiding behind it.

ROAD LESS TRAVELED

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth

Then took the other as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet, knowing how way leads onto way
I doubted if I should ever come back

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence
Two roads diverged in a wood
And I took the one less traveled by
And that has made all the difference

<<Robert Frost>>

At least, I hope I will make a difference. Once again, Being ian.Tam has reached the end of its chapter.

May I now rest my head, closes my eyes and let myself be drifted away with all the sweet memories that was left for me.

But somehow, somewhere, RM1250 is floating around in my balance check, no where to be found. On ptptn statement, they already paid me RM5250. But up to date, I only have RM4k the student financial kiosk statement. If the balance were banked in to my account, I would have informed my dad, make a note on it. But it so happen, I didn’t do it this time. Have I overspent, or did ptptn owe me money? It is no small amount.

I do not know how many times I have already mentioned to my housemate, don’t wire the network cable from the router, out to the balcony and back to your room. Yes, you have short network cables. So what? Why can you spend some extra bucks to buy a coupler and few more meters so you can extend your network cable? How much will it cost you? I am sure it will cost far more less than my over RM200 router. You are enjoying the internet and you didn’t even pay a single cent for the router. The last D-link wifi router also was replaced because it wasn’t able to cope with the amount of connections going in and out of it. I wonder who torrents all the time?

For heaven sack, you are taking Electronics engineering majoring in computer. Can’t you understand running live wires (yes, network cables are life wires coz they carry certain degree of current) outside your house can invite lightning to strike it. I believed I have explained this before. More than once. Even if you think I am bullshitting, then as an engineer, why don’t you think the logic behind those heavy insulated ground cables? Why do some Streamyx modem get fried during thunderstorm? Why do some places experiences power trips when a lightning stroked? If you would like to argue, why they don’t insulate power lines, thats because the heat need to dissipate fast enough from high current lines. They do have chances to get stroked by lighting. But they were designed have voltage & current clamper and will ground the over current. They also have mechanism to minimize the effect shall the lightning strikes. Does your network cable have all these features? For godness sack, if you can’t even see the danger, I would strongly suggest you stop your studies, marry a rich man and raise your kids.

Shall the router spoil or having problem, don’t worry. I am a nice guy. I won’t ask for a compensation. All you need is replace it with a brand new same model. Then you will know it is not cheap.

Mahathir also know how to pose. Great!!!

mahathir was born on 20th December 1925 in Alor Star, Kedah. His Indian father was a school teacher migrated from Kerala, Southwest India. While his mother was A Malay. Tun generally regards himself as a Malay ethnic but is a strong supporter of Indian community in Malaysia. He sold banana fritters (pisang goreng) during the Japanese occupation of Malaya to help his family financially.

A prominent figure in Malaysia

Mahathir became the Prime Minister of Malaysia on 16 July 1981 when Tun Hussein Onn stepped down due to health reasons. After 22 years in office, Mahathir retired on October 31, 2003, making him one of Asia’s longest-serving political leaders. Upon his retirement on 31 October 2003, Mahathir was awarded a “Tun”-ship, Malaysia’s highest civilian honour.

Tun attended Malay school before persuing his education in Sultan Abdul Hamid College. Then he went for a medical degree in King Edward VII Medical College in Singapore. During this time, he contributed to The Straits Times newspaper under the pen name of “Che Det”. He joined the goevernment service soon after graduate. On 5th August 1956, he married Tun Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali (former classmate in college). In 1957, he set up his own private clinic in Alor Star.

As a fellow student under his Vision 2020 (Wawasan 2020), we definitely have learned a lot about him throughout our daily life in school. As a fellow Malaysian, we have heard and see alot about him whether in person or in the tv and read alot about him in the newspaper. He made several landmarks during his term as the Prime Minister. Among those are removing royal veto and royal immunity from prosecution. He also turned malaysia into a regional high-tech manufacturing, financial and telecommunications hub through his economic policies. As what we can see, he realised alot of projects including but not limited to Perwaja Steel, Proton car, Astro satelite tv, Multimedia Super Coridor, North South Expressway, futuristic administration centre Putrajaya, KLIA, Bakun Dam and Petronas Twin Towers. However, as an MMU student, I must thank him for idealising Malaysia’s first private university; Multimedia University.

Honorary Doctorate of Knowledge Science in the year 2004, MMU

During the financial crisis in 1997, his wisdom has brought us out from the economic grive. Eventhough IMF has given Malaysia a recovery fund, he rejected it. During the crisis, Malaysia Ringgit plunged from RM2.50 per USD to RM4.80 per USD. Composite index fell of from about 1300 to just 400 points within weeks. Tun’s defensive measures and his refusal to take in loan from IMF has allowed Malaysia to be free from financial bond. Today, Malaysia’s economic has prosper relatively faster and more stable than affected neighbouring countries. IMF and World Bank acknowledged that his approach had worked.

In 2002 a tearful[44] Mahathir announced his resignation to a surprised UMNO General Assembly. He was persuaded to stay on for a further eighteen months, in a carefully planned handover that ended in October 2003. Since retirement, he has been serving as an advisor to the Malaysian national oil company Petronas and the Malaysian national car company Proton, an original core national project initiated by Mahathir during his premiership. He is also the head of the Perdana Leadership Foundation, a foundation whose aim is to preserve, develop and spread materials regarding or written by previous Malaysian Prime Ministers. While he has retired from all political offices, he remains very outspoken regarding national policies.

On 1st of May , he started his blog (maybe coz labour day, he no need to work, so he is free to do so), chedet.com. It uses blogspot as it’s engine. However, the domain was registered on 9th April. He simply describe himself as the Prime Minister of Malaysia 1981-2003. he claims the site is dedicated to publishing his writings as and when he is able to pen his thoughts and opinion.

Dont pray pray with Malaysia’s bloggers. Tun is on our side now
p/s this does not mean he condone whatever bad or nasty bloggers write

p/s coincidently, my dream is to sell pisang goreng. If someone who used to sell pisang goreng to help his family and become 1 of the most respectful person in Malaysia, why can’t I be 1 rite???

Dear Friends,
If you are used to paying ‘Kopi Money’ when stopped for traffic offenses, DON’T Do This Again. The traffic department has recently started a campaign to be rid of corruption. The officers on duty will be rewarded RM100.00 when they report each case to the department. This is how they do ( trick you into) it. They will note down the details of your IC/MyKad, and ask you how you want to settle (Paying Kopi Money?). They will then report the incident by passing up the ‘Kopi Money’ and get the RM100.00 in return for their good deed. You will end up having a summon issued to you.

DON’T PAY KOPI RM AGAIN, especially if you hope to go free with RM20 kopi money. They rather have a ‘good’ name than to take your kopi money. Just beware of their trick because the cops are now clocking up ‘cookies’ points for their promotion and pay increment. They should have done this to stop corruption long time ago, anyway better late than never…

SPREAD THIS MESSAGE AROUND TO EDUCATE OTHERS ON THIS

Regards !

p/s if you want to bribe the police, make sure you pay more than RM100.

Thanks for Mr Lai from Ameba Products for inviting us to help him run the roadshow in KLCC. Three of us from Sparkling Smile team and Fitri(baby’s bro), and 11 members from another Cyberp team worked together. Practically, this is an opportunity for us to actually try our hands on, on what we have done in Cyberpreneurship course. A day in the hall itself is not just about selling. He introduced to us some cool people in the innovation industry. Personally, he is a good talker that can interact with anyone. Basically I just go around with him leeching some contacts. Lol… at the end of the day, I got the chance to actually talk to the inventor of the 5 minutes stamping(seal) machine, Mr Robest Yong. Besides, from the people I met, I might actually have found the answer to 1 of the biggest problem that been haunting me in the yearbook binding part. Basically the yearbook is quite thick and with the current binding technology, the pages will come out very fast. But just now, I got my hands on experience on the latest book binding technology that actually will hold the pages of a thick book strongly together. I even folded a magazine the other way round.

Mr Lai together with the two teams

Our team, Fitri and Mr Lai at the end of the day

Don’t believe it

There is nothing more I can do than to thank Mr Jimmy Lai for this opportunity. The 1 day opportunity he given to us to experience of running a roadshow in exhibition cannot be described in any words. The only thing I can do is to share my experience in the roadshow and meeting people in the innovation industries. At the very least, I can help by becoming his live testimonial because I have actually thoroughly experimenting with the Sonic Power 3D toothbrush which he is promoting today. I hide no facts about the weaknesses. He is an open minded guy who are more than willing to share experiences and knowledge. Not just some businessman in the making.

p/s Ameba products may not have a stronghold in the local market yet, but with its Managing Director enthusiasm, I believe it will penetrate the market very soon and reach the international market in a blink of an eye. Kudos for everyone who are involved today and thanks to Mr Lai for being our most important sales partner.

update: The female model in the poster of pic #2 is Mr Lai’s daughter. Whoever want to be a successful Malaysian toothbrush tycoon can go ahead. You know what I mean. She is studying in UM, third year is not mistaken.

Went for dinner just now at the chinese shop in Cyberia. While having my dinner casually, I saw 2 6foot height Korean guys came in. They went straight for the food counter. To my horror, they didn’t even take a moment to look at the dishes. What they did was they took a plate each, start scoping the dishes like no body’s business. They filled the plate with mountain high of dishes. Next, each of them took rice on another plate. It was about 3 bowls of rice on each plate. Now I felt challenged.

Standing at 5″2′, I take 2 to 3 times more than the recommended portion of food for an average Asian. And my best record was 7 bowls of rice and a claypot of bak kut teh. Considering the amount of food taken over the body size, I can’t help it but felt challenged. Both of them are tall and thin.

And this is me:

Because I can eat 7 bowls of rice and 2-3 times more than an average Joe, you expect me to be short, fat and have stubby legs? Nah…

Don’t believe it? You better believe it!!!
