Coming back from meeting, after I took my bath, fired up firefox and checking my iGoogle, noticed that finally giuk.net’s has some activity. The worm has made it and is back online. Checked it out, still empty, submitted my blog and hopefully others will follow suit soon.

  • Finally i got my HDMI cable

What’s life if you have HDMI capable 24″ LCD and a HD graphic card with HDMI output if you do not have HDMI cable? I bought my Dell 24″ lcd a couple of month back. Soon enough, I discovered that DVI cable is not enough. Why not take the audio processing off from the CPU (my audio is built-in to mobo) and place it on the GPU since most of the time I do not run graphic intensive applications. I watches HD movies and listen to songs most of the time.

Today, I decided to get a HDMI cable. Plugged it in to my graphic card and the LCD, some configurations in Windows Control Panel, and I am done. Sound will be produced from my graphic card, sent to the LCD via HDMI cable. Next, I hooked up the headphone to the back LCD panel, tested it and there’s sound. I will test the sound quality when I have the time.

And now, after feeling that my LCD should be complete with the addition of the HDMI cable, I deserve a self pride to show off my 24″ and it’s companions.

    desktop-arrangement

Triple screen arrangement. The CRT and LCD hooked up to the desktop with a single GPU and the desktop is linked to the laptop with Synergy2. Synergy2 works like kvm switch but without the hardware. It runs on booth desktop and laptop to provide seemless link and make use only a single mouse and keyboard to control both machines. The PDA is just a show that all the above displayed gadget is powered by Microsoft Windows.

Looking on my student ID 105XXXXXXX, makes me ponder upon something. I should have been graduating. I am seeing people of my batch graduating, or left about one year to graduate. But not me. I started engineering studies quite bad, stuck for 3 years, before I finally decided that I cannot take it anymore. After almost a year switching to Game Design, I am much more contented. Although I still dislike programing and maths subjects, as least I am doing what people have been telling me I am good at, IT. Although I am not a 4 flat student, at least now I am back in reality, where the effort I put in seems to pay off with above 3 pointer.

  • I am stressed

    Posted on March 2nd, 2009 cereal87 1 comment

Yes, I am stressed. It seems wierd, I have time to play psp, yet I don’t have enough time to play it. Yet, I still have other things need to be settled. Assignments, events, club activities, just to name a few. I have been using Google Calender to manage my daily task, but it seems insufficient.

I am not going to post some emo stuff here, but I do hope someone can share with me on how they manage their time. I am not complaning 24 hours a day is not enough, but how to do you make use of your time efficiently.

  • Putting Z-Core and Z-lectron to rest

    Posted on February 9th, 2009 cereal87 1 comment

Been working out the career fair website for 4 days (minus 8 hours of sleep and 2-3 hours of toilet breaks and meals) straight on this two machines. While most of the simple graphic design and web building(yes! building, Microsoft Expression Web 2 is so fool proof that I did most of web page using mouse. Minimal hand coding) were done on Z-lectron, previewing (I want to know how ugly it will look on 800×600 and 1024×768 resolution) and oraganizing the information for the web is done on Z-core. I have control of both machines using only a mouse and a keyboard. All thanks to Synergy (http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/).  I can control both machines without the need for kVM switch! Best of all, it is open source, and it is free!!!

Here is the sneak preview of how the career fair website may look like (This is not the final product). Remember, you seen this first on cereal87.iantam.net!!!
